Mary Jane Morley, the founder of MJ Morley Law PC, brings a wealth of legal expertise combined with real-life entrepreneurial experience to offer unique, client-focused solutions. As the driving force behind three successful small businesses, MJ understands the legal hurdles that entrepreneurs face, especially when it comes to the costs associated with legal services.
Determined to make quality legal support accessible, MJ offers practical, cost-effective solutions designed to protect and empower businesses of all sizes. Her approach ensures that entrepreneurs can focus on what they do best—growing their businesses—without the added stress of legal complexities.
MJ’s legal career began in a prominent Western New York law firm where she tackled a broad spectrum of business-related disputes, from trade secrets to contract law to cybersecurity, in both state and federal courts. Her deep dive into niche industries and her hands-on experience with online businesses have honed her skills in offering tailored advice that meets the specific needs of her clients.
Her excellence in commercial litigation has not gone unnoticed. MJ was honored with the Super Lawyers® Rising Star designation in 2023 and 2024 and received the prestigious Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch® recognition in 2024 and 2024 for her exceptional work in commercial litigation.
Licensed to practice across New York and in several U.S. District Courts, MJ is not only your attorney but your partner. When she's not advocating for her clients, MJ enjoys playing (and coaching) hockey and golf, coaching youth sports, and spending quality time with her family in Amherst, where she lives with her husband, two children, and their dogs.

Jan is the driving force behind the smooth and efficient operations at MJ Morley Law, blending over two decades of legal expertise with a passion for supporting small businesses. With experience ranging from corporate litigation to insurance defense, Jan’s dedication is now laser-focused on helping therapists, coaches, and digital course creators navigate the legal complexities of their businesses.
Her approach is people-first, driven by a BA and MA in Psychology, allowing her to connect deeply with clients, understanding both their professional needs and personal challenges.
As a Notary Public (including e-notarization), Jan provides essential services for businesses across New York and beyond. Whether it’s guiding clients through contracts or ensuring operational excellence, Jan is committed to making legal processes straightforward and stress-free.
Originally from Saint John, New Brunswick, Jan now calls Amherst, NY home. When she’s not working, you’ll find her traveling, crafting, or walking her dog. Calm, organized, and solution-oriented.
